Bp Renegades Steel Orchestra and Massy Trinidad All Stars battled to a historic tie in the finals of the Large Conventional Bands at the Queen’s Park Savannah on Saturday night.

Both bands scored 285 points and will share the title, only the second time in history that a tie has occurred in the National Panorama Final.

The only other instance of a tie in the Panorama final involved Renegades and Desperadoes in 1985 when both bands played Lord Kitchener’s “Pan Night and Day.”

Republic Bank Exodus (283) was third, with Proman Starlift Steel Orchestra and Desperadoes Steel Orchestra tied for fourth place.

The win for Renegades has given them a record 13th Panorama title, breaking the deadlock with Desperadoes (12).

For All Stars, it was their 11th title overall and their first since 2017.

“We are thrilled to share the title with our neighbors, East Dry River band Massy Trinidad All Stars. We have a wonderful relationship with them. Both bands worked extremely hard,” said Colin Graves, President of Bp Renegades.

“We worked extremely hard coming out from a difficult season last year. We know we had to bring it home for the fans, especially and we did it,” said Crystal George, Massy Trinidad All Stars.

The final took place in front of a packed Queen’s Park Savannah and also featured a well-received drone show highlighting the history of Trinidad and Tobago.
