Montserrat Labour Day Celebrations

Labour Day 2024 celebrations will be held this year on Monday, 6 May 2024; under the theme: “SOCIAL JUSTICE AND DECENT WORK FOR ALL”.

As is customary, there will be a March and Rally held to unite workers together in the spirit of camaraderie. This year, the March will commence from the BBC Complex at 8:00 am and end at the Little Bay Playing Field, where the usual ceremony and workers’ appreciation speeches will be held.

Subsequently, the Montserrat Union of Teachers (MUT) will host a Fun Filled Sports Day, and departments and entities are encouraged to form teams to participate in the various sporting initiatives to include 80m/100m/600m races, cricket ball throw, egg & spoon, skipping, tug-o-war, relays, sack race etc. Kindly contact Mrs. Tanacia Grant-Roberts via mobile on 396-0700 to register your team.

The Montserrat Civil Service Association (MCSA) will provide complimentary T-Shirts, only for its members who will be participating in the March and Rally. Members are encouraged to register with the following union representatives to secure your T-Shirts; President Mulcare at 392-1140 – mulcaren@gov.ms, or Vice President Cassell at 392-7857 – cassellm@gov.ms.

There will also be music and lots of goodies on sale to include goat water, chicken, ice-cream, snow cone, a full running bar and other delights. (See flyer attached)
