Mr. Sean Troy Perera Sworn in as Acting Deputy Commissioner of Royal Montserrat Police Service

In a ceremony on March 8th, 2024, Mr. Sean Troy Perera, a Royal Gibraltar Police Officer, assumed the role of Acting Deputy Commissioner of the Royal Montserrat Police Service (RMPS). The swearing-in ceremony was overseen by Chief Magistrate Her Honour Ms. Vashti Chatoor.

Having served as a tactical firearms commander with expertise in both pre-planned and spontaneous operations, as well as holding the title of Silver Public Order and Public Safety Commander, Mr. Perera brings a wealth of experience to his new role.

During the ceremony, Acting Deputy Commissioner Perera solemnly pledged his oath to the RMPS before Her Excellency, The Governor, Mrs. Sarah Tucker, emphasizing his commitment to upholding the principles of the force.

Mr. Perera’s term in office extends until March 29th, with a notable responsibility as Acting Commissioner from the 9th to the 14th of March. This period of leadership underscores his capacity to handle the responsibilities of the Commissioner’s role with dedication and professionalism.

Expressing gratitude, Her Excellency, Mrs. Sarah Tucker, remarked, “I am thankful to the Royal Gibraltar Police for extending their support to Montserrat. This collaboration reflects the ongoing opportunities for British Overseas Territories to unite and work seamlessly together.”
