Dominica: PM Skerrit arrives in Beijing on official visit to China

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit arrived in Beijing, China on Saturday for an official visit to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Commonwealth of Dominica and the People’s Republic of China.

In his first major outing, the Dominican leader will meet with China’s President H.E Xi Jinping on Monday and Premier Li Qiang and the Chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee, Zhao Leji later that same week.

The Prime Minister will also hold talks with top business leaders including officials of China Global Advisory and attend the Boao Forum for Asia in South China’s Hainan Province.

During this visit, Dominica will sign several cooperation agreements, further cementing the country’s strong bilateral ties with the People’s Republic of China.

The Prime Minister is accompanied by his spouse, Minister for Housing and Urban Development Hon. Melissa Skerrit and other senior government ministers.
