Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, family to vacation in Jamaica for 2nd year

The Prime Minister's Office revealed that Trudeau will be accompanied by his immediate family during the trip, scheduled from December 26 to January 4.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family are set to spend their winter vacation in Jamaica next week, according to a report from CBC Canada.

The Prime Minister’s Office revealed that Trudeau will be accompanied by his immediate family during the trip, scheduled from December 26 to January 4.

This marks the second consecutive winter holiday that Trudeau and his family will be enjoying in the Caribbean country, as they also vacationed on the island last year after Christmas.

Despite announcing their separation earlier this year following 18 years of marriage, Trudeau will be travelling with Sophie GrĂ©goire Trudeau. At the time of the separation, the Prime Minister’s Office said Canadians could expect to see the family together, and both said in individual statements they would remain close, the report continued.

The Prime Minister’s Office disclosed that after consulting with the country’s federal ethics commission, the Trudeau family will cover the cost of its stay and reimburse the cost of travelling on a government plane for next week’s trip to Jamaica.
