BVI: Man dies after surfing incident at Apple Bay

A tourist visiting the British Virgin Islands (BVI) tragically passed away yesterday following a surfing mishap at Apple Bay.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) received a report about an unresponsive man at Apple Bay around 10:45 am on February 27.

Preliminary investigations by the RVIPF revealed that the man was surfing when bystanders noticed him struggling and brought him ashore.

Efforts to resuscitate him were made before he was rushed to Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital, where he was declared dead shortly after arriving.

The police are currently investigating the incident.
