Belize and St Kitts and Nevis congratulate Taiwan on its election

The Government of Belize and the Government of St Kitts and Nevis have extended congratulations to President-Elect Lai Ching-te of Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) on his recent victory in the presidential election.  

Prime Minister of Belize John Briceño in a social media post said: “We congratulate our bilateral partner Republic of China – Taiwan on its peaceful democratic elections.  

Belize extends best wishes to current Vice President Lai Ching-te of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) who was declared victor in the presidential race, garnering an unprecedented third consecutive term for his party. 

We look forward to our continued friendly and mutually beneficial bilateral relations and partnership.”

Meanwhile, the Government of St Kitts and Nevis in its congratulatory statement said in achieving an unprecedented third consecutive term for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), President-Elect Lai Ching-te has broken new ground, showcasing the democratic spirit of the Taiwanese people.  

The Government of St Kitts and Nevis said it commends the commitment to free and fair elections, reflecting the values that underpin its shared democratic principles of their longstanding bilateral relationship that spans over 40 years. 

Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance M Drew, expressed his congratulations, stating, “On behalf of the Government and people of St Kitts and Nevis, I extend warmest congratulations to President-Elect Lai Ching-te. This victory not only signifies the trust bestowed upon you by the Taiwanese electorate but their support for the ideals you espouse for your people.” 

The Government of St Kitts and Nevis added that it is proud to acknowledge the enduring friendship and collaboration between their two nations and reaffirms its commitment to the resilience and strength of their relationship.
