3.8 Magnitude Earthquake Reported Near Montserrat

The Seismic Research Centre (SRC) at the University of the West Indies (UWI) has reported an earthquake near Montserrat, with automatic location data.

The earthquake occurred on April 6, 2024, at 05:24 am local time (09:24 UTC) and registered a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale.

According to the SRC, the earthquake’s epicenter was located at latitude 16.94N and longitude 61.28W, with a depth of 172 kilometers.

Cities affected by the earthquake include Brades in Montserrat, approximately 104 kilometers east, Saint John’s in Antigua and Barbuda, approximately 66 kilometers east-southeast and Point-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe, approximately 81 kilometers north-northeast.
