It is the Carnival season in St Kitts and Nevis where a strong presence of revellers are out and pumping in Downtown Basseterre for the annual J’ouvert celebrations during Sugar Mas 52.

Boxing Day in St Kitts is anything but relaxation today as J’ouvert bands hit the road during the wee hours of this morning with the jam session ending at noon.

Earlier this month, St Kitts-Nevis National Carnival outlined the judging criteria for the Road March. This will be evaluated on J’ouvert morning exclusively, with the competition being assessed in three locations. The triumphant road march song will become the anthem for Sugar Mas 52 and will be announced by 9 pm on December 26.

Sugar Mas 52 runs from December 15, 2023, to January 2, 2024.

According to the parade schedule from St Kitts-Nevis National Carnival, the next major event is the National Junior Carnival Parade on December 30, 2023, which will run from 1 pm to 5 pm.

On January 1, 2024, the Grand Carnival Parade will be held from 11 am to 8 pm.
