Guyana: Two killed, another injured after motorcycles collide head-on

Police in Guyana are investigating the deaths of two young men after the motorcycles they were riding crashed into each other head-on on Friday night.

Police said that a third person has been hospitalized in critical condition. They said that Vekash Tulsi, 21, and Rondy Emmanuel, 22, died as a result of their injuries, while Veeram Seecharran, 17, is hospitalized with a fractured skull.

The police also shared that initial investigations indicate that the accident occurred along the Williamsburg Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice, east of the capital, and that Seecharran was the pillion rider on the bike with Emmanuel.

They said Emmanuel allegedly lost control of his motorcycle, causing him to end up in the path of the motorcycle with Tulsi, and as a result, both motorcycles collided head-on, causing the motorcyclists and the pillion rider to fall onto the road.

They were all picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to Port Mourant Public Hospital, where Tulsi was pronounced dead and Emmanuel died while receiving medical attention.

Seecharran has since been transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital, and his condition is regarded as critical.
