Tragedy has struck the island of St. Kitts, as two separate shooting incidents left two men dead and one injured.

The first incident unfolded shortly before midnight on April 7th at the Basseterre Bus and Ferry Terminal. Alex Harris, 33, was approached by an assailant who fatally shot him. Police swiftly responded to the scene following reports of the shooting, only to find Harris motionless in a chair. Despite efforts to save him, Harris was pronounced dead at the scene.

Less than two hours later, chaos erupted at a bar on Main Street in Parson’s Village when a masked gunman opened fire. The gunfire claimed the life of 37-year-old Rashiel James, while 30-year-old Leshawn Hazel sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. Hazel was promptly transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

These tragic events have added to the grim tally of violence on St. Kitts in 2024, with the murder toll now standing at eight.
