Lieutenant Colonel Alvin Ryan, Director of the Disaster Management Coordination Agency (DMCA) in Montserrat, is currently participating in the 15th Meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
TAC 15 brings together Senior Government Officials from 19 CARICOM Participating States, along with representatives from Regional and International Institutions, and CDEMA’s Executive Leadership Team. The meeting, scheduled from April 15th to 19th, aims to strengthen collective efforts in disaster preparedness, response, and resilience across the Caribbean region.
The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) comprises directors of the 19 National Disaster Organizations of the CDEMA Participating States. It operates under the governance of CDEMA, providing support and input to enhance Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) programmes within the region. Additionally, the TAC supports the implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of these programmes at national, regional, and international levels.
