Bomb Threat Prompts Temporary Suspension of Operations at JAGS McCartney International Airport

Operations at the JAGS McCartney International Airport on Grand Turk came to a temporary halt today following the receipt of a bomb threat, as announced by the Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIA).

The TCIA disclosed that at 4:48 p.m. local time, an email containing a bomb threat was received, prompting immediate action. The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force was promptly notified, and first responders were deployed to the scene without delay. In the interest of safety, the terminal building and surrounding areas were evacuated, ensuring the protection of both passengers and airport personnel.

As the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force launches an investigation into the threat, thorough searches and monitoring of the airport premises are underway.
