In the early hours of April 11, 2024, residents of Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, and St Vincent & The Grenadines experienced the effects of a 3.5 magnitude earthquake, as reported by the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI, SRC).

The seismic event struck at 04:55 am local time (08:55 UTC), with its epicenter located at latitude 12.01N and longitude 60.04W, and a depth of 10 km.

Cities in close proximity to the epicenter felt the tremors, including Scarborough in Trinidad and Tobago, approximately 120 km northeast; Bridgetown in Barbados, about 131 km southwest; and Kingstown in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, roughly 183 km southeast.
