Vincentian Shafiqua Maloney has smashed her national record in the 800 metres.
Maloney,24, clocked 1:58.69 as she stormed to victory in an indoor race at the 2024 Tyson Invitational in Arkansas, USA on Saturday.
This was the first time that a Vincentian female athlete finished an 800m in under two minutes.
Maloney received an added prize as her time surpassed the 2024 Paris Olympic Games entry standard of 1:59.30.
