Trinidadian artiste Kman-6ixx has been banned from entering St Kitts and Nevis after he was flagged as being “a security risk”, according to the promoter of his scheduled performance on the twin island nation.

As a result of the ban, Study It Ent said it was forced to cancel an upcoming concert titled “OBSESSED—All Black Affair”, which Kman-6ixx was due to headline.

“After consultation with the St Kitts and Nevis Police Force, it has been brought to our attention that a decision has been made to flag the artist known as ” Kman-6ixx ” as a security risk,” Study It Ent said in a social media update about the event that was carded for March 2.

“As a result, the artist will not be permitted entry into the federation. According to the authorities, this decision was made in the interest of national security and as responsible citizens we are inclined to take the advice and direction of those in charge. Unfortunately, due to this information our team has decided to cancel the upcoming event ‘OBSESSED’.”

Kman-6ixx, who performs TriniBad music, is a controversial figure due to his lyrics and alleged affiliation with the 6ixx Gang, which is one of the criminal organisations responsible for many of the gun-related murders that occur in Trinidad and Tobago.

Two attempts have been made on Kman-6ixx’s life in less than a year.

In the most recent incident, he was ambushed by gunmen from a rival gang on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in St Augustine, Trinidad. The brazen shooting occurred moments after he landed at the Piarco International Airport following a performance in Barbados.

Kman-6ixx, whose real name is Kashif Alexander, was unhurt but three of his friends were killed along with a woman, who was hit by a stray bullet.

Following the incident, the US Embassy in the Trinidadian capital Port of Spain urged Americans to be vigilant.

“Due to recent increased gang activity in St Augustine, US citizens are advised to exercise extreme caution in the St Augustine areas of Trincity Mall, Trincity, Grand Bazaar, and Valsayn areas into the new year,” the embassy said.

St Kitts and Nevis is not the only country where concerns were raised about the potential risk posed by Kman-6ixx’s appearance at a concert.

There was some uproar in Grenada after Kman-6ixx was booked to appear at a concert on February 6, one day before the country celebrates 50 years of Independence.

Neither the Royal Grenada Police Force nor the event’s promoter have commented on whether Kman-6ixx will be allowed to perform at the concert.

Local media reported that he may be banned from entering Grenada.
