Royal Montserrat Police Rescue Vessel in Distress off Marguerita Bay

On Thursday, May 2, 2024, at approximately 19:35hrs, the Royal Montserrat Police received a distress call regarding a vessel in trouble about two miles off Marguerita Bay. The Royal Montserrat Police Marine Unit promptly responded to the call.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a twelve-meter sailing vessel named Oscar II, with one individual on board. The vessel had lost steering control.

Despite rough seas, the officers successfully transported both the vessel and its occupant to Little Bay. A photo inset accompanying the article shows the vessel safely docked at Port Little Bay.

Acting Commissioner Enriles commended the officers for their actions, thanking them for their bravery and dedication to keeping people safe.
