Police investigate 2 murders in The Bahamas, 1 suspect in custody

The country recorded two murders on Wednesday taking the 2024 homicide figure to 14.

In the first incident, police said a homeowner heard gunshots coming from the back of their property on Pineyard Road at around 11:20am.

Upon checking the area, the homeowner discovered a man lying unresponsive in a track.

Police were called and they confirmed the man had died.

He was shot multiple times.

Just over half an hour later, police responded to another shooting at the intersection of Parkgate and Village Roads.

Police said the victim, who was out on bail for a murder charge, was driving a car when another vehicle pulled alongside him as he reached the intersection and the occupants began shooting.

The man was shot multiple times and he died at the scene.

A suspect has been held in connection with the murder.
