Ten calypsonians will compete in Grenada tonight to become the Independence calypso monarch for this year’s 50th anniversary.
The following is the order of appearance for the contestants:
- Big J
- Cox
- Scholar
- Prince
- Teacher Eddy
- Sour Serpent
- Katura
- Baracka
- Superstar
- Papa Jerry
The event takes place at Sauteurs Bus Terminal at 8 pm. The public is being urged to show up in their national colours to support all the singers in their mission to be crowned.
Coordinator of the 50th Independence Calypso Monarch, Adrian Mark it is an auspicious occasion as 50 years is a milestone for anyone and believes the calypsonians have done justice with their lyrics and composition this year.
