In the early hours of Sunday, a man was killed by his wife’s extramarital boyfriend at their Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara home.

Ketezel Bazillo, a 31-year-old self-employed resident of Lot 769 New Young Professionals Housing Scheme, Diamond, East Bank Demerara, was identified by police as the deceased.

Muammar Jabbar, also known as ‘Omar Jabbar,’ of Albouystown, was identified as the culprit.

According to investigations, Bazillo resided with his 38-year-old alleged wife Wanda Jones and four children (the youngest is 12 years old and the oldest is 16 years old).

According to Jones, she was decorating the house for the holiday season at 22:00 hrs last night when she contacted Jabbar, whom she has known for several years and has a connection with, to get them some KFC.

Jabbar was recently released from prison for murder. Jabbar arrived at her house with a bucket of chicken, and she invited him inside to spend the night.

Bazillo arrived home around 4:00 a.m. Sunday and asked his wife to open the front door, but she hesitated. Bazillo was irritated and questioned her timing.

She then informed him that Jabbar was inside the house, and he inquired as to why she had brought a convicted felon into his home. Brazillo walked to the eastern bedroom window, removed numerous louvre panes, and entered the house through the window after she refused to open the door.

Bazillo confronted Jabbar, who drew out a revolver and fired a round at him, knocking him to the ground. Jabbar then jumped on top of him and fired another round at Bazillo.

Bazillo’s body was investigated, and two bullet wounds, one to the neck and one to the chin, were discovered.

Investigators examined the area, and a.32 expended shell was discovered in the bedroom. In the bedroom, there were several shattered louvre windows.

Several people have been interviewed, and statements have been collected. Investigations are now underway.
