On 2nd April 2024, an Agreement was signed to create the Eastern Caribbean Youth Parliament Network (ECYPN).

The ECYPN will be a collaborative organisation made up of the youth parliaments within the OECS region.

The signatories to the agreement were Ms. Jessica Zouetr and Mr. Hasani McDonald the presidents of the National Youth Parliament Associations of Antigua- Barbuda and St. Kitts-Nevis respectively.

During the virtual signing ceremony both presidents outlined the future of the ECYPN and gave commendations to past presidents Mr. Mauriel Knight (SKNPA) and Mr. Kamalie Mannix (NYPAAB) who began formal relations between both organisations in 2021.

Present at the meeting were other Executives and senior members of the youth parliaments.

Since 2021 the NYPAAB & SKNYPA has executed two successful sittings of the Joint Youth Assembly and, in 2023 planned and executed the inaugural sitting of the ECCU Youth Parliament.

Members of both organisations have given overwhelming support to the creation of the Network.

The ECYPN will seek to harmonize the advocacy and work of its member organisations. Ms. Celine Edwards, External Affairs Officer (NYPAAB) indicated that the ECYPN is the result of months of hard work and she looks forward to the next sitting of the Eastern Caribbean Youth Assembly to be hosted in St. Kitts in August 2024.
