Regional leaders arrive as SVG prepares to host the 8th CELAC Summit

Regional leaders have begun arriving in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) for the Eight Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States – CELAC.

Up to press time today, (February 29), Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda – Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica – Roosevelt Skerrit, and President of the Federative Republic of Brazil – Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva arrived at the Argyle International Airport (AIA).

They are among 32 leaders who are scheduled to attend the Eighth Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) which will be held tomorrow – March 1, 2024, at the Sandals Resort at Buccament.  

According to the Agency for Public Information- API, some 400 diplomats and heads of state at the 2024 CELAC conference in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) is expected to officially hand over the Pro Tempore Presidency of CELAC to Honduras.
